Prep Time

Instructions
Classic Lemonade
How to prepare:
1. Start by making a simple syrup. Combine sugar and 1 cup (250 mL) water in a small saucepan until the sugar has dissolved completely.
2. While the sugar is cooking, use a juicer to extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons, or enough for one cup of juice.
3. Add the prepared simple syrup, and lemon juice to a pitcher.
4. Add 3 to 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher to suit your tastes. For a stronger lemonade use less water, and for a more diluted lemonade use more water. Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes.
5. Serve with ice, and sliced lemons.
CHEF'S TIP
- To make it pink lemonade add ½ cup of raspberries or strawberries before chilling for 30-40 minutes.
- Add a couple fresh slices of ginger when making the simple syrup to make a ginger lemonade.
- For a little fizz, instead of using 3 to 4 cups (700 mL – 972 mL) of flat water, try using sparkling water.
